8. A Little About Me · I am married to my husband Leo and we have a son, Liam, who is in 5th grade this year. · I have been teaching for 12 years. · I have a MA in Educational Leadership and Administration. · Currently, I am a doctoral student in the Education Department at Immaculata University.

10. Independence and Responsibility It is my goal for your child to become an independent and responsible citizen. Here is how you can help: ·Teach and encourage your child to tie his/her own shoes, zip coat and snap and button clothing. ·Learn and practice address (including zip code), phone number (with area code), parents cell numbers and birth date. ·Help your child by holding them responsible for their own homework and behavior. Let them pack their own backpacks the night before school, pack library books, etc.

Olweus Bullying Prevention Program Defines bullying and seeks to understand the similarities and differences with other kinds of aggression Uses best practices to communicate and intervene with children who bully, are bullied or witness bullying Helps children to understand the various roles that they may play in instances of bullying.

16. What is Bullying? Dan Olweus, creator of the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program, provides us with this commonly accepted definition for bullying as: “A person is bullied when he or she is exposed, repeatedly and over time, to negative actions on the part of one or more other persons, and he or she has difficulty defending himself or herself.”
