3 “Hi, my name is Expo and I’m going to guide you through learning the anatomy of a butterfly. Sometimes anatomy might seem difficult but it’s really easy if you take your time and work in segments. You’ll see. So let’s get started …”

4  Provide training on key concepts, terms, or information before starting a formal lesson  Good for beginners processing complex material or information  Can include a practice exercise

5 “There are a few terms that you might not know, let’s go over those first. There’s three of them and they’re on the next slide. Take your time, memorize them and their definitions, and when you’re ready go to the next slide.”

6 Key words/definitions:  Thorax - The locus or means of locomotion. The butterfly’s wings are also attached to the thorax.  Abdomen- The butterfly’s heart, reproductive organs, breathing pores and digestive system are in its abdomen.  Proboscis - Siphoning-sucking structure with muscles that control the coiling and uncoiling of the proboscis.

7  Breaking complex instructional material into manageable pieces.  Each segment has one to three pieces.  Allows the learner to manage essential processing

8  “This segment of the presentation is fairly easy, we're going to locate the second largest anatomical part of the butterfly: its wings. “

9 “As you've probably already noticed from the previous slides, butterflies actually have four. That's right, four wings that carry them over vast distances, sometimes to different hemispheres!"

10  “They’re really easy to identify. The two near the top of the thorax are called ‘forewings’. The two wings beneath them are called ‘hind wings’.
