1 Creating Labels with Merged Info

2 Start the same way as we did when we created a mail merged letter (go to data tab and click start mail merge, then choose the wizard at the bottom of the list). Choose label options to get this dialog box. Pick the type of label you are making, which depends on what kind of labels you have.

3 Select the recipients and browse to get the file with the addresses in it. Choose the file you want to work with.

4 Depending on the type of label you chose, you will get a page laid out with spots for each label’s information. This is for the standard 30/page label. Click Next: Arrange your labels…

5 Insert the address block and you will get this dialog box. As wit the letters, you will see an example of what your addresses look like. You may need to match fields if you are not getting what you expect. Click Update all records when you are done.

6 Click update all labels and then click preview your labels. You should get a page that shows your labels all laid out.

7 Click complete the merge and then you will get the chance to edit individual labels. As with the letters, it is recommended that you do this to have a document that shows everyone you mailed to. Also note that in actually printing labels, every printer is a little different. Sometimes you need to fuss with margins or font sizes to get the labels to print correctly.
