2 Fellows Class of 2015 Fellows will be announced after the Board of Directors meeting later this month. Chair will establish timeline for Fellows process. Next round of nominations due March 1; all electronic format is to be found at the IEEE website Additional members added to the Fellow Evaluation Committee to address specific needs. Need more nominees!!

3 NPSS has been very successful Fellow Class ofElevation Rate 201045% 201160% (65.3%) 201255.5% 201350% 201450% However, we need more nominees!! Most TCs are submitting only 1 nominee per year. those nominees are generally very senior.

4 Nominees for IEEE Fellow Class of 2015 PAST 14 Nominees We should have more nominees, earlier in their career! Solicit Nominations at Conferences!!

6 The Fellow Process Nomination Submitted to IEEE Society Fellow Evaluation Committee IEEE Fellow Committee IEEE BoD Confers Fellow status in November effective 1 January A Fellow Nomination can be “torpedoed” at any step in the process Nomination + Endorsements Only Nomination, Endorsements + Fellow References

7 Fellow Categories and Requirements Categories – Research Engineer/Scientist –Technical Leader –Education –Applications Engineer Senior MemberMust be Senior Member prior to Fellow Application – still time to get this done Please start recruiting NOW.

8 “Do” –Explicitly state the significance of the nominees work – write for a non-specialist (ie Fellows from other societies ) –Be clear and concise – Choose Fellow References Carefully – Use spacings to your advantage (ie use spaces) –Have the nominee do a first draft of application

9 “Don’t” –Don’t talk about how much money you raise/manage How many students you have graduated Ranks within your organization – Don’t use Acronyms or country specific words/concerns – Don’t expect that the FEC or FC is familiar with your technical area, your jargon, your reputation
