3 Chapter 8 Lesson 2 Jesus is the Son of God. We know little about Jesus’ early life, but he was a devout Jew. Jesus was raised in the rich tradition of the Jewish faith. The story from Luke’s Gospel shows us the type of young person Jesus was. The family traveled to Jerusalem for the feast of Passover. When Jesus was about 12, he was left behind in the temple. When his parents returned and found Jesus, he said to his parents, “Why were you looking for me. Don’t you know I was in my Father’s house.”
