Observations Any information collected with your 5 senses. The skill of describing scientific events Quantitative- Is measureable or countable »Contains a number »Examples include temperature, mass and length. »The bug was 5 inches long. Qualitative – not measureable »Describes the quality of something »Examples include color, texture and taste. »The bug was green and slimy.

Inference The process of drawing a conclusion from given evidence. Conclusions or deductions based on observations. Practice: Observations: I see people waiting in lines. I smell cotton candy, popcorn, and hamburgers. I hear 10 people screaming. Inference = You are at a carnival.
