New product introduction:
Ethernet Remote I/O
2
Ethernet Remote I/O The Horner APG Ethernet Remote I/O block is DIN-rail mounted and supports ModbusTCP. It is compatible with any standard ModbusTCP client (master). The basic block consists of Power supply, Ethernet ports, 4 digital outputs and 8 digital inputs. The block is modular and supports the addition of several analog and digital I/O modules.
3
Ethernet Remote I/O Features
Up to 61 Ethernet I/O blocks can be connected to an Ethernet network at any point. The Ethernet I/O block and the Inline devices form one station. Up to 63 local bus devices can be connected to one station with the first 4 outputs and 8 inputs making up the first two devices. Features 2 x Ethernet ports with auto negotiation and auto crossover. Connected via integrated 3 port switch. (third port internal) Speeds of 10Mbps and 100Mbps Electrical isolation of Ethernet interface and logic.
4
Ethernet Remote I/O More Features
Integrated web server. (for configuration) Autobaud detection of local bus. (500 kbps or 2Mbps) Diagnostic and I/O status LEDs. Eight 24VDC digital inputs. Four 24VDC digital outputs.

Advantages of Ethernet I/O
Interoperability Ethernet provides the opportunity to utilize multiple protocols over the same network wire. Cost is reduced by taking advantage of an existing network. Physical Connection Standard RJ-45 jack connections. Cables are easy to build. Factory made cables are readily available. A single standardized cable connects controller to I/O. Electrically isolated, eliminating ground loop problems. Ethernet network peripherals widely available. The I/O is distributed reducing the need for terminating blocks.
6
Advantages of Ethernet I/O
Performance Ethernet is fast. At 100Mbps, RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485 cannot compete. The widely accepted standards make Ethernet flexible and increases scalability. Troubleshooting 3rd party software tools for Ethernet give Ethernet I/O an added option for troubleshooting without having to buy extra hardware.
