2. Terylene is a synthetic polyester fibre produced by polymerizing ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid. The fibre was first created in 1941 by chemist J. R. Whinfield of Accrington who sold the patent rights to the chemical company ICI.

3. Properties of terelyne
Tereylene is a very strong fibre and will suffer very little loss in strength when wet.
It is elastic in nature and posses the property of resist creasing.
IT can be set into permanent pleats when subjected to the correct temperature, at the time of manufacturing.
Terylene is easily washed and dries quickly.
It is non-injured by acidic substances when used
in the moderation process. Neither bleaches or
dry cleaning agents can harm it.
