1 How To: Approve a Pool Task Definition: Review and ‘approve’ a pool that has been forwarded to you by a Pool Manager. Steps – From the Home menu option Under Modeling, click on a hyperlinked pool Tip: The ‘hyperlink’ lets you know the delegated pool is available for modeling and/or approval Review the pool –Adjust salaries using modeling Click on [Submit for Approval] E-mail will be sent within 15 minutes to the next level Approver In this task – A Pool Manager, who receives a pool they delegated to another Pool Manager for modeling, will need to review the pool to ensure the pay changes are within target % and amount. Once reviewed, the Pool Manager can then make desired changes and submit the pool for approval. Pool Managers can approve pools individually and send to the Approver or hold all pools and submit them at the same time. 2 Task: Approve a Pool (cont’d) 2 Click on the hyperlinked pool delegated to begin the approval process. Note the hyperlinked pool that had been delegated. The hyperlink denotes the pool is available for modeling and/or approval. Note: Consider submitting the entire ‘School/Center (MM)’ group together when/if all pools are available for approval. Note the two pools that have been delegated but are not ready for approval.

3 3 Task: Approve a Pool (cont’d) Click on [Submit for Approval] to complete this task. Review the Pool Statistics to ensure the pool target % and $ amount was met. Note the Status column, in particular, the ‘Approved’ information of the Pool Manager who was the original person who ‘modeled’ and submitted the pool for approval. Make adjustments to the pool as needed. Tip: Submit all of your pools at the same time. This will enable you to compare and update roles across all your pools and ensure the pools are within the specified increase amounts before ‘Submitting for Approval’
