16 Word Choice Support your comparisons by using words such as and, also, too, and like. When describing similarities between two things, add words such as and, also, too, and like. When describing differences between two things, add words and phrases such as but, although, however, and on the other hand.

Create a secret code for each consonant pair. Choose a symbol or number to stand for each consonant pair. Write each spelling word, using letters and a symbol or number. Exchange their lists to figure out which consonant pair each symbol or number stands for.
