Reminder: This is not about IATA building a system. This is about illustrating how a travel IT provider could use the NDC standard to create exciting and comprehensive shopping interfaces for a travel agent or online travel site.

3. NDC is Not a System
NDC is a travel industry-supported program launched by IATA for the development and market adoption of a new, XML-based data transmission standard. The NDC technical standard will enhance the capability of communications between airlines and travel agents, and will be open to any third party, intermediary, IT provider or non-IATA member, to implement and use.
