11 THE MEDICO-LEGAL EXAMINATION  A.The medico-legal examination brings medical skill to bear upon injury and death investigations.  B.The medical specialist frequently called upon to assist in such cases is the forensic pathologist. 1.Forensic Pathology, a subspecialty of pathology, is the study of how and why people die. 2. Forensic Nursing- The application of forensic science, combined with the biological and psychological education of the registered nurse.
