3 3 HRM policies HRM policies are a set of tasks performed by managers to win the commitment, loyalty, flexibility, and dedications of employees. They include:

4 4 HRM Models -American Perspective (The Michigan and the Harvard (The Michigan and the Harvard Models) Models) -British Perspective (Guest and Warwick Models) (Guest and Warwick Models)

5 5 The models contain-almost – same aspects of HRM but with some differences. They represent three categories that can be labeled as: -Strategic models -Descriptive models -Normative models

6 6 Strategic Models (Warwick Models) Strategic Models are primarily concerned with the relationship between a range of possible external factors and HRM policy and practice.

8 8 Descriptive Models (Harvard Model) This type of Models describe the field of HRM in a comprehensive way.

9 9 Normative Models (Guest Model) This type of models is more prescriptive in its approach reflecting the view either that a sufficient knowledge exits to provide a ground for prescribed ideal practice or that a set of norms and standards indicate best practice.
