7 Level I: Diversity within the Organization  Marriot believes the workforce should mirror the communities where they are located. Marriot has 137,000 employees from dozens of nations speaking more than 50 different languages.

8 Level II: Corporate Community Collaboration  Marriot believe in social well being through partnership and donations and volunteering.  In 2009 they reported 12.4 in cash donations and 750,000 employee volunteer hours.

9 Level III: State/National Collaborations  Marriot does not have a plan in place to help the disadvantage populations. Many times this can be due to limited company vision in this particular area.

10 Level IV: International Collaborations  Marriot International is a global company. They have hotels and employee people all around the world.

11 Marriot International : Programs Specifically in China, Marriott’s hotels have focused on reducing water usage and energy use. Marriott’s 45 hotels currently operating in China are engaged in several operational practices in conserving energy. 13 Recommendations For Marriott International  Advertise your diversity to the general public.  Webpage includes section on diversity but it is not likely to be viewed unless someone is looking for it.  Have awareness of Diversity In it’s Entirety – Diversity is not only gender and racial specific – Having rounded efforts such as using the four communication styles within each area of the company will better diversify the efforts of the company.  Make sure the results of your Diversity Efforts are Measurable  Without having set goals and standards, diversity efforts can end up costing the company without benefitting them.
