Justification for University Publication Charge Increase This fee funds all of the Registrar’s online publications such as undergraduate and graduate catalogs, the class schedule, and the Information Bulletin. Having these publications online better meets the demands of today’s technologically savvy students and is more environmentally friendly than printed publications Staff who create and manage these online publications must remain up-to-date in the latest software and their salaries must be kept competitive Costs of annual maintenance and upgrades to publication software is not covered by current funding, as there has not been an increase of this charge for over 15 years

Justification for Student Data Management Fee Increase This fee is used to maintain student records, processing of transcript requests, registration and enrollment, veteran certifications, residency certifications, athletic certifications, graduation processes, commencement, and waitlisting The flat fee was implemented several years ago and replaced records-related per-transaction fees such as adding and dropping classes, transcript requests, and name change fees. Now, students pay a flat, per semester fee. For example, students can order up to five transcripts per day without incurring additional costs, and when they graduate there is never any additional charge for transcript processing. Any student applying for graduate school or a job can appreciate this! Every area of the Registrar’s Office manages student data and these processes involve complex software databases and reporting systems that require annual maintenance, upgrades, and consulting services so that they remain state-of-the-art and smooth-running for students, faculty, and staff. This is probably most appreciated by students during registration. This fee has not increased in over 10 years
