INTERVIEW With Ed Kaisinger Why do you listen to music? I think it is relaxing and enjoyable. What year was it when you were my age? 1976, decade- ’70s Who were some of your favorite musicians/bands growing up? Lynyrd Skynyrd, Eric Clapton, and The Beatles. What was one of your favorite songs growing up? Do you have a particular memory associated with that song? “I Saw Her Standing There” I remember listening to that song all the time on a transistor. How is music today different from when you grew up? “todays music sucks” What bands/musians would you want me to listen to? Michael Jackson, ELO, and/or Bruce Springsteen

Lynyrd Skynyrd is a band that changed people so often but all together there were were twenty-six members but some of them are Ronnie Van Zandt- born January 15, 1948; died October 20, 1977 Allen Collins- born July 19, 1952; October 20, 1990 Gary Rossington- born December 4, 1951 Greg T. Walker- born 1963 Lynyrd Skynyrd NICK JONAS Nick Jonas is a present day musician that started off as a band with his two brothers called, “the Jonas Brothers” but then he went solo which was the plan from the Beginning of their career together. FUN FACTS Nick Jonas He’s an actor, singer, song writer, model, and producer And The first song Nick ever sang was a song from Peter Pan. Lynyrd Skynyrd They named the band after a gym teacher three of the members had in high school named Leonard Skinner who disapproved of long hair on males. And There was a total of 25members in the band (not at the same time)

INTERPRETATIONS My interpretation- Missing their old home in Alabama. Actual meaning- This song was written as an answer to two Neil Young songs “Southern man” and “Alabama” which dealt with racism and slavery. My interpretation- Being trapped by something holding him back. Actual meaning- Being trapped in a hopeless love and feeling that all people can relate to, it’s being trapped in some kind of way.

FUN FACTS ABOUT THIS SONG… “Sweet Home Alabama” At the beginning when Ronnie says “turn it up” it wasn’t intentional, he was telling the engineer to turn up the volume on his headphones This is featured in the 1997 movie Con Air. The escaped convicts listen to it during a party on the plane after getting away from an US Marshals raid. One of the characters, a serial killer played by Steve Buscemi “Chains” This song was produced by Jason Evigan who also produced his friend, Demi Levato’s, single “Heart Attack” He co-produced his music video there was a remix released on march 2, 2015

COMPARISON 2. Both songs were very popular at their time, 1. Both songs have one main singer in it, not a group of people singing at once. Similar Song difference Song 1. ”Sweet Home Alabama” is a country song and “Chains” is more of a pop song.. 2. ”Chains is a song that is relatable and “ Sweet Home Alabama” is more of just a story.
