3
If you give a mouse a muffin,
4
he’ll want some jam to go with it.
5
When he’s finished eating the muffin, he’ll want another. And another.
6
You’ll have to go to the store for some muffin mix. He’ll want to go with you.
7
When he opens the door and feels how chilly it is, he’ll ask to borrow a sweater.
8
When he puts on the sweater he’ll notice that one of the buttons is missing.
9
The button will remind him of the puppets his grandmother used to make.
10
So he’ll ask for some socks and he’ll make sock puppets.
11
When they’re done, he’ll want to put on a puppet show.
12
Then he’ll ask you to help him make scenery.
13
Then he’ll get behind the couch. But his antlers will stick out.
14
So he’ll ask you for a sheet to cover his antlers.
15
When he sees the sheet, he’ll remember he wants to be a ghost at Halloween.
16
He’ll shout, “BOO!” He’ll get scared and knock over the paints.
17
He’ll use the sheet to clean up.
18
He’ll go outside to put the sheet on the clothesline.
19
Some blackberries will remind him of blackberry jam.
20
So he’ll probably ask you for some more muffins.
