1 Paddington Public School’s Chef Visit with Andrew and Years 1 and 4/5S

2 Wow! Look at all this fresh produce! Asparagus, parsley, thyme, rosemary, eggs, flour, parmesan cheese…

3 Here’s Chef and his assistant, Evie, peeling a fresh artichoke. We all got to taste it. It was stringy and it tasted like grass and it was a little bitter.

4 …and here we are ‘shelling peas from the pod’!

5 Here are some of the ingredients…we’re making gnocchi!

6 We need to write down all the ingredients…

7 …mm…fresh is best!

8 First, spread the mashed potato on the table and ‘powder’ on the flour.

9 Then mix the 2 together with your hands. Here’s Chef showing us how.

10 …and here we are, having a go!

11 Now for the grated parmesan cheese.

12 In it goes and mix it up.

13 Next, we roll it into a ‘log’.

14 Divide the log into the number of people in your group.

15 Next, we had to roll them into smaller pieces…

16 Wow! Look at them all!

17 Now for the cooking!

18 Here’s Chef explaining what to do.

19 Use all our fresh ingredients…

20 …including our cherry tomatoes, to make the delicious sauce!

21 Carefully place the gnocchi into a pot of boiling water.

22 Gently stir the gnocchi into the sauce in the pan. It is cooked when it floats to the top.

23 Yum! It looks and smells great! Time to serve!

24 …mmmmmmm…

25 Bravo!!!!
