2 How do authors hook and hold readers?
In writing a mystery novel you need a good plot and to introduce the main characters early. "How to Write a Mystery Novel” The readers need to be interested early in the book. "How to Write a Mystery Novel”

3 How do mystery writers persuade there readers?
The crime in the mystery novel should be believable, something that could happen in real life. (Sachteleben) They have to believe your story or they will be uninterested.

4 What is the relationship between fiction, nonfiction and truth?
Nonfiction is the same as truth. Fiction is not the truth. Fiction is a made up story.("Mystery Writing Lessons." ) While a writer based on his imagination creates Fiction, non-fiction is not created but only written based on facts. ("Difference Between Fiction and Non fiction )

5 What truths are communicated through mystery?
A mystery novel can be fiction or nonfiction. When writing a fiction mystery novel, making the novel believable is what will keep the readers reading. The novel cannot be too outrageous, if it is a reader will just feel that it's too made up and that it has no belief to it. ("Mystery Writing Lessons." ) Fiction - Books that are made up by the author, or are not true are fiction. ("Difference Between Fiction and Non fiction ) There are no truths in a fiction mystery novel.

6 What do you need to write a good mystery novel?
When writing a mystery you need to include a few things that are essential to any mystery. There needs to be a bad guy, there also needs to be a detective. Introducing the crime in the first 3 chapters of the book is a good idea, if you don't you could loose the reader.("How to Write a Mystery Novel”) You need real life clues and real life stories, you need lots of research on crimes. Knowing the knowledge of police and what they do to solve crimes.("How to Write a Mystery - Types of Novels.")

7 Do writers have to do any research to write a mystery?
Yes, if your writing a mystery novel you should do a good amount of research. In your research you should be looking up real life crimes and how they play out. How long it might take to find evidence and how long the it took to solve the crime committed.("Writing with Writers: Mystery Writing”)

8 Is there more fiction or nonfiction mystery novels?
There is a good amount of both fiction and nonfiction, many fiction that are based on real life and real stories and facts. there are also a few nonfiction that are truly real stories.("Writing with Writers”)

9 How does mystery connect to people and their lives?
Mystery books usually almost always have realistic characteristics of life. That's how they connect to the readers. They can relate to what is going on and that keeps them interested. (Wiehardt)
