2  Chesapeake Bay is rich in crabs, oysters, clams, and other shellfish.  Many families in the Chesapeake Bay make a living by harvesting the sea.  People who fish different kinds of seafood in the bay are called watermen.

3 Process for harvesting the sea 1.Crabbers use crab pots to catch crabs in the summer. 2.Then, the crabber pulls the crab pot into the fishing boat, empties the pot, and sorts the catch by size and type. 3. Finally, they take them to the market to sell.

4  What have people done to stop pollution and overfishing in the Bay?  What would you do?

5  How does the land around the Bay pollute the water and then harms the fish?  Factories dump waste onto the land, which pollutes the soil.  When it rains or snows, the polluted soil washes into the water.

6  There are other Bays in the area besides the Chesapeake Bay. The Delaware Bay and Massachusetts Bay also have plentiful products of the sea.
