Established in 1986, hosted by SAI Canada Hosted by SAI, Norway since 2001 28 Staff members ,19 Nationalities represented Governance IDI Board : Chair + 8 Board members 4 from SAI Norway, 1 each Sweden, UK, Canada, Zimbabwe and the Netherlands Board observers: Austria ,South Africa IDI Advisory Committee IDI Secretariat Oslo, Norway + regional staff YES! 2015

IDI Mandate The IDI is an INTOSAI body that supports Supreme Audit Institutions in developing countries, in their efforts to sustainably enhance performance, independence and professionalism. The IDI provides support to SAIs by facilitating Implementation of international standards, including the ISSAIs Development of institutional, organisational and professional staff capacities Knowledge sharing and implementation of good practices Scaled up and more effective support to SAIs through partnerships with stakeholders Using a client centred approach the IDI facilitates SAI development initiatives at global, regional, sub regional and SAI level; including limited bilateral support on a needs basis. The IDI may also provide capacity development support for developed country SAIs on cost recovery basis. Yes!2015

Leaders that stuck to paper and report will not survive. They need to keep up with new developments, both technical and changing society. How will social media change auditing techniques ,and how will this change the role of leadership in the future ? What makes society different ten years from now and what has changed in the last ten years? What consequences do these answers/ideas have for the YLP? What should be part of the curriculum?

Why is it that some leaders inspire us, and some don’t? (the ideal leader) What are the ideal characteristics and attributes a SAI leader should have ?/What type of interventions could affect these characteristics ? How important is ethics ? 21 What’s in it for the young potential leader? (#WIIFM)
Who are the leaders that have inspired you and how have they changed how you view leadership? One of the ideas is to introduce mentorship to the YLP. Who should these mentors be? And why? Imagine you are joining the YLP: what would be something that you would very much like to learn? Make it specific and concrete! What wold you not have learned without the YLP? And what consequences do these answers/ides have for the YLP? What should be part of the curriculum?
