The rain, mud and fans all made for a great start to the Chiefs season. While the Cowboys had other plans for our team WE knew our hard work over the past two months was going to pay off. The Cowboys started off with a run that caught the defense still in the teepee so to speak…less than one minute into the game the Chiefs were down but by no means out!

9 The game started off with a bit more than a light drizzle and it rained the better part of the game, but the kids seemed to thrive in it! The Cowboys had the first possession and proceeded to run for a TD the first play of the game. The extra point attempt was no good. The Chiefs then returned the favor! Brandon B. handed off to James who threw a perfect pass to Nate who ran for a TD. The extra point was denied. After a good defensive stand the Chiefs got the ball back. Adam ran long for a first down after a pass from Brandon B. followed by a hand-off to James for a TD. Missed the extra point. In the second half, with a steady rain coming down, both defenses held the line. The Chiefs Defense lead by Zack, Luke, Aaron, Kelsi and Erik shut down the Cowboys offense. As the safety, Zach didn’t allow any long passes to be completed. Luke contained the running game and the Cowboys only had 2 first downs in the 2 nd Half. Kelsi and Aaron controlled the middle of the field preventing short passes and Aaron provided QB rush support. Brandon S. and Brandon B. had outstanding tackles along with Kelsi who was in the QB’s face every play. Brandon B. and Erik both had interceptions. Erik intercepted the ball on the last play of the game. What a way to end it!! Great job, team!! Final score...Chiefs-12 Cowboys-6 NEXT WEEK BRONCOS!!! 1PM
