Mild infections may look like a pimple or boil and can be red, swollen, painful, or have pus or other drainage and are usually mildly infectious and easily treated. More serious infections may cause pneumonia, bloodstream infections, or surgical wound infections.

FCPS Certified Athletic Trainers provide information to all athletes specific to MRSA during the athlete meetings at the beginning of each season. All athletes will view a video that specifically outlines concerns about MRSA.All athletes will view a video that specifically outlines concerns about MRSA.
