3 I. THE PROVING WE MUST ANTICIPATE. ARE YOU BITTER OR BETTER? Proverbs 14:10; Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the desert forty years, to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.” Deuteronomy 8:2

4 II. THE PERIL WE MUST AVOID. ARE YOU WINNING OR WHINING? I Corinthians 10:1-13; “Do not grumble as some of them did— and they were killed by the destroying angel (serpent - KJV).” I Corinthians 10:10

5 III. THE PROCEDURE WE MUST ADOPT. ARE YOU PRAYING OR PERISHING? 1. When Hannah was without a child she prayed (I Samuel 1:10-17) 2. When Elisha was in great need he prayed (II Kings 4:18-37) 3. When Hezekiah was in trouble he immediately went to prayer (Isaiah 37:14) 4. When Daniel was threatened he prayed (Daniel 6:10-11)

6 III. THE PROCEDURE WE MUST ADOPT. ARE YOU PRAYING OR PERISHING? 5. When Peter was in prison the church prayed (Acts 12:5) 6. When Paul and Silas were in jail they prayed and worshipped God (Acts 16:25) 7. When Jesus was in Gethsemane He prayed (Matthew 26: 36-46)
