2. Step 1: Boot from windows server 2008 installation DVD, windows will load needed files for starting installation process.

3. Step 02: Select the appropriate language preferences, and click next.

4. Step 03: You can start the installation process now, but first you may have a look to “what to know before installing windows”, more information about system requirements and driver compatibility could be found there.

5. Step 4: Read the license agreement carefully, and check the “I accept the license terms” to continue the installation process.

6. Step 5: If you have a previously installed windows server system on your machine, it is time now to choose either to upgrade to install a clean copy of windows 2008 server. If not click on Custom (advanced).

7. Step 6: Select where do you want to install Windows. Press “Drive options” to create a new partition and format it.

8. Create a new partition of 20 GB (20480 MB).

9. Format this new partition (Partition 1)

10. Note that by formatting this partition you will loose all data stored on it.

11. Once formatted, notice that you will loose some space from the total size of the allocated disk space (reserved for boot loader and allocation table).

12. Step 7: installation phase will now start by: 1- copying installation files, 2- Expanding files, 3- Installing features, 4- Installing updates. Your machine will restart several times during installation.

16. Step 8: You will be asked to change the administrator password before logging for the first time.

17. Enter a valid password (more than 8 characters length, has a capital character, includes a numeric character).

19. Step 9: Basic Installation completed, and “Server Manager” will Start. Now you perform top management tasks and add or remove server roles and features.
