 Reduce the time permitted to replace a disqualified player from 20 to 15 seconds.  Warning horn sounded immediately after the official informs the timer to start the 15- second time limit.  Final horn sounds at the expiration of 15- seconds unless the sub has already reported.

 If second horn sounds and the substitute for the DQ’d player has not reported, then a technical foul is assessed to the head coach.  Two free throws awarded to the offended team.  Direct technical foul to the head coach.  Resumption of play is Point of Interruption.

 Substitutes between halves: ◦ Report prior to the horn that ends the intermission.  Substitutes during timeouts or between 1 st and 2nd periods and 3rd and 4th periods: ◦ Report before warning horn. ◦ Mechanic is to treat the intermission at the end of Once both teams reach their respective bench areas, the official nearest to the table will instruct timer to start timing the end of period intermission.

 Resumption of Play procedure is in effect when a team is not ready to play following the final horn to end a timeout or the intermission following the first and third period.  First offense: ROP team warning.  Second offense by the same team:ROP procedure shall be used.

 Five team timeouts. ◦ Three 30-second timeouts and two Full timeouts. ◦ Four timeouts will carry over to the second half. ◦ One 30-second timeout for each extra period, plus the remaining second half timeouts.

 Band/Amplified Music are permitted to play or to be played during any dead ball. ◦ Must be institutional (band, CD/computer at table) ◦ Does not change artificial noisemaker rule for spectators or cheerleaders.  Examples: ◦ After a made basket. ◦ Between multiple free throws. ◦ During monitor reviews. ◦ After fouls and violations (when the ball is dead).

 If a timeout is charged to the offensive team during the last 59.9 seconds of the game ◦ The ball is out-of-bounds in the backcourt prior to the advance. ◦ A rebound is secured prior to any advance of the ball (dribble or pass) ◦ The offensive team secures team control prior to any advance of the ball (dribble or pass).

 The ball is advanced when the player in control passes or dribbles the ball.  If, following any advance, play is stop in the back court for a foul or violation committed by the defense, the offense may advance the ball if they call a timeout.  After advance, successive timeouts does not regain the option.

 Team has option to advance throw-in spot to the 28-foot line in the front court (table side) or remain at the designated spot.  Head coach must notify officials before timeout is reported to the scorer. (The official will ask the coach if the team wants to advance the ball when asking for a full or 30-timeout.)  If option is exercised, the throw-in may be made into the front court or back court.  Team will receive a new 10-second count if throw-in goes into the back court.

 A team is awarded two free throws for each common foul committed by a team, beginning with the fifth team foul in each period.  Team foul counts start over at the beginning of each period.  Extra period(s) are considered an extension of the fourth period; therefore the foul counts continue.

Add the following to the current Rule 9-10:  Once the ten second count begins for the offensive team to cross the division line, the ten second count shall be reset on all stoppages of the game clock, except when: ◦ The defense causes the ball to be out of bounds. ◦ The offense retains possession after a held ball. ◦ There is a technical foul assessed to the offensive team.

 Shot Clock Off ◦ We must visibly count the 10-seconds using the new signal – shoulder height. ◦ If there is a new throw-in the back court with no reset of the 10-second count, the Trail will communicate verbally and visually to both coaches, players, and partners the time remaining for the ball to achieve front court status. ◦ The count starts with the Trails visible count and not the game clock. ◦ Make sure the count is visible, precise, and accurate.

 There is no change when defending a post player without the ball.  When an offensive post player with the ball has her back to the basket, the defender may only place on the post player: ◦ One forearm away from the body OR ◦ One hand with a bend at the elbow. ◦ The body or knee is not an acceptable point of contact when defending a post player with the ball.

 When the offensive post player with the ball turns and faces the basket, she is now a ball handler. ◦ Ball handler guidelines apply.

1. Enforce the rules as written. 2. Post Play / 3 seconds. 3. Freedom of Movement / Players moving without the ball / Screening. 4. Contact on and by the ball handler / dribbler. 5. Block / Charge 6. Bench Decorum / Sportsmanship
