2 Why are we here?  To seek public input on the development of the Area Transportation Improvement Program (ATIP)  Proposed projects for federal transportation funding from 2016 – 2019 Roads Bridges Public Transit Rail Safety Safety Improvements Transportation Alternatives

3 Who makes the decisions? Federal Highway Administration Minnesota Department of Transportation Area Transportation Partnerships Public

4 Role of the ATP  Meets 4 – 6 times per year to plan and priorities transportation projects for federal funding  Receives transportation improvement recommendations from cities, counties, transit providers, local elected officials, MnDOT and other transportation partners and compiles a list of projects within its boundaries  Sets policy for prioritizing annual federal funds  Approves and submits final list of projects for the area
