Water Cycle G3 Q1 SNB Lesson 6 Alt-MSA HCPSS Elementary Science Curriculum, 2010

More than seventy percent of the earth is covered in water.

The water cycle is the process of how different forms of water move about our planet. evaporation condensation precipitation

First, the heat from the sun warms the body of water, turning some of it into gas. Evaporation is when a liquid turns into a gas. evaporation

Then the gas or water vapor cools as it rises and becomes water droplets. Condensation is when a gas turns into a liquid. condensation

Last, droplets form clouds and collect moisture. The droplets fall in the forms of rain, hail, sleet, or snow called precipitation. precipitation

The water cycle starts all over again and is ongoing, which is why water never disappears from earth. evaporation condensation precipitation
