Time Line Defined Time Line: A schedule of activities or events; a timetable A chronology A representation or exhibit of key events within a particular historical period, often consisting of illustrative visual material accompanied by written commentary, arranged chronologically.

Step 1: Collect Information: Brainstorm for Your Time Line Specify your intention for creating a time line and indicate a title List events that have occurred in your life each year. List each year of your life and indicate a specific event that has happened 1994: I was born Collect information about world events that have occurred during your life

Step 1: Continued Right now gather 10 personal dates and write them down… possible ideas.. – Date you will graduate high school – Date you will graduate college (add two years) – Date you plan on getting married – Date you plan on getting married – Getting your first car etc. Collect 10 world events or other dates by doing an online search with google what major event happened in 2005? Look it up and do the research… i.e. 1993 last time the Canadiens won the Stanley Cup.

Step 2: Construct a Time Line Horizontally or vertically. Use a ruler and use the same division for each year. Each year of your lfie has lasted the same amount of time (365 days) therefore they must occupy the same amount of space on your time line.

Step 2 Continued Determine how long your time line must be. 2008 – year you were born = 15 / 14 years Divide your sheet into equal segments Determine how much each segment is worth: in your case, each segment should be equivalent to one year Use a ruler!

Step 3: Analyze and Report Information Chose the dates that correspond to the events in your life indicate your age, the event, and an illustration Where a world event occurs draw a lone opposite your personal event and indicate the world event with an illustration Indicate a title for your time line. The title must correspond to the main subject of the time line, its contents and its purpose. Enjoy the project – worth 10% of your mark Enjoy the project – worth 10% of your mark
