2  Find a seat next to someone whose first name begins with the same letter as yours  Example: Amanda and Ashley  Your whole table does not have to have the same first letter of their first name Do Now:

3  Creativity in Schools Creativity in Schools  Take notes as you watch the TED Talk TED Talk

4 Write using complete sentences and use evidence to support your ideas.  What do you hope to achieve your senior year?  Why is that achievement important to you?  When are you at your most creative, and what inspires this creativity?  What is a creative trait that you admire in other people and why? Journal Prompt

5  Pair up with a partner who was born in the same month as you.  Read your journal responses to each other and discuss what you wrote.  Choose either a commonality or difference to share out to the class. Pair

6  Pairs will share their answers out to the class  Remind class about tomorrow’s activity***  Tomorrow bring a picture or a quote that is meaningful to you. This will hang in the classroom all year, so please make it school appropriate. Share!!!!

7  Review your notes and journal response from the TED Talk.  Write a one-paragraph reflection on the TED Talk and corresponding class activity.  Write a goal and/or hope for your senior year. Explain why this is meaningful to you. Reflect!

8  Prompt:  Write a letter to yourself expressing your fears, hopes, expectations, and dreams for your senior year.  Materials:  Photo or quote that is meaningful to you (from home)  Blank or lined paper  Your favorite writing utensil  Task:  Make a rough draft sketch for your layout and letter.  Make your final draft. Be creative in your layout and use of space.  Begin your letter with the salutation “Dear Me,” and end it with “Sincerely,” and your signature.  REMINDER: These will be posted in the classroom for the school year. Be sincere and appropriate in your letter. Dear Me,
