6 Makeup Makeup was simple and elegant. Red lips was not as much of a trend in the early 60's. Girls went with more coral and pink lipstick. Eye makeup consisted of noticable wings and big lashes. Girls loved their rosy cheeks and defined eyebrows. They didn't wear much eyeshadows.

7 Prom Styles!! Guys wore white tuxedos, girls wore white gloves and their dresses were not revealing

8 Pop Culture  John F. Kennedy was president and Lyndon B. Johnson was his vp.  The Ken doll was introduced and Barbie said it was love at first sight.  The first six flags opened in Dallas, Texas called Six Flags over Dallas.  Ibuprofen was introduced to the public.  The cold war was getting progressively worst, which was not actually cold or a war, ironically. Both the Soviet Union and the U.S. appalled fighting. This "battle'' was a battle to see who could bomb each other first with nuclear bombs.

9 Entertainment  The Pony became a popular dance.  Popular movies such as Breakfast at Tiffany's, Blue Hawaii, West Side Story, The Parent Trap, and 101 Dalmatians came out.  Popular TV shows: Bonanza, The Twilight Zone, Andy Griffin, The Dick Van Dyke show, and Gunsmoke.  Top Billboard songs: Are you Lonesome Tonight-Elvis Presley, The Lion Sleeps Tonight-The Tokens, Pony Time-Chubby Checker, Surrender-Elvis Presley  Celebrities: Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Doris Day, Sophia Loren.  Famous Quotes: "Yabba Dabba Do"- Fred Flintstone  "Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country. - President John F. Kennedy  James and The Giant Peach by Ronald Dahl was published
