OBJECTIVES  We interpret naval history and heritage, providing relevant support to Navy leadership and Sailors to support policy development, enhance readiness and build esprit-de-corps.  We conduct outreach to the American public that highlights the critical role the Navy plays in their daily lives and the importance of maintaining a strong Navy to protect their basic freedoms and the America's maritime commerce.  We collect, preserve, protect, and make available the artifacts, documents, and art that embody our naval history and heritage for future generations.  We advance the knowledge of naval history and heritage through professional research, analysis, interpretation, products, and services. 5 Invoke the “Sense of the Heroic”; Connect to Our Audiences
