2 What is e-Navigation? IMO definition: e-Navigation is the harmonised collection, integration, exchange, presentation and analysis of maritime information on-board and ashore by electronic means to enhance berth to berth navigation and related services, for safety and security at sea and protection of the marine environment.

8 Tactical Route Exchange/Exchange of Suggested Routes Allows the mariner or VTS to see and exchange other routes Tested in simulator and on P&O Ferry Uses “Maritime Cloud” for shore/ship comms Excellent feedback – “We’ll miss this when we go back home!”

16 Conclusions Maritime safety and accessibility is predicted to be an increasing challenge in the North Sea Region e-Navigation has the potential to improve safety, accessibility and protection of the environment – e-Navigation Services – Resilient PNT
