5. John Marin John Marin was an artist who lived from 1870-1953. He was born in New Jersey. He started out his career as an architect.

6. While working as an architect, Marin met John McNeill Whistler. Whistler was an artists and got Marin interested in painting

7. In 1910, he traveled to Europe and studied in Paris, Rome, and London. He met other artists in Europe and started painting more like the painting he saw.

10. While in New York he painted many cityscapes and also painted many pictures of the Brooklyn Bridge.
