3  Fundraising decision – group needs to raise funds for a project, determine what items are available to sell, discuss the options, determine what product to sell, select product, design promotion, sell product, determine if sale was success, and analyze process.  Debating current topics – students would be given topics, research pro or con, envision solution, debate side, and discuss what they learn along with process Solution Fluency

4  Research assignment - research topic, document each resource for bias and accuracy on a Google form, process data, finalize research in a PowerPoint, MovieMaker, or other media tool, and reflect upon project.  Journalism class – research and write an article on a topic that is relevant to a high school student. Complete reflection form that includes their bias, resources they used, and thoughts on assignment. Information Fluency

5  U.S. History – World War II Honor Flight Fundraising - students learn about the flight and World War II via research, interviews with veterans, design posters, and present check to group at assembly.  Culture – German exchange students visit high school, create friendships, exchange emails, share stories, communicate throughout year, Skype with class, end of year U.S. delegation goes to Germany Collaboration Fluency

6  World Geography class – students find pictures (online or scanned in) for all aspects of country, then create a PowerPoint relating each picture to country aspect.  Photography class – take pictures and enhance with Photoshop. Place pictures in Photostory or Voicethread presenting a story. Creative Fluency

7  Television Production Class – view news programs to determine bias, relevance, and content of news. Discuss with peers in class. Design their own news program keeping in mind bias, relevance and content.  Film club – view films first for fun, then again for content, purpose, and bias. View new and old versions of film to see if films have same bias, impact, and purpose for example view both True Grit movies. Media Fluency

8  Discuss with students what they place online impacts their life and what message it brings out. Share with them the incidents of cheerleaders at UW-Stevens Point. Show them Catch a Predator series and discuss their opinions of content.  Leadership class - design presentation of appropriate posting and consequences. Bring presentation to K-8 schools to lead a discussion with students Digital Citizen
