1 Welcome to the Media Center!

2 General Information  Leave book bags at the door as you enter the media center (do not block office doors).  You must have a teacher pass to enter the media center during school hours.  Do not cut through the media center on your way to class.  Please work quietly and be respectful of others.

3 Media Center Visits  With your class  Individually with a pass  In small groups with a pass

4 Individual Passes  Students may use the media center any time before school with media center issued pass.  Students need a media center issued pass to come to the media center during their lunch period.  Students do not need a pass to use the media center after school.  Individual students must be doing productive work while in the media center (studying, research, reading).

5 Procedures for Individual Visits  Students must  Sign in at the check out desk.  Leave your pass in the blue basket.  Find your book or materials.  Check out book/pay for copies.  Make sure your pass is signed before returning to class.

10 Log in using your ID number as your Username & password

11 Checking out books  Students may check out up to two books at a time.  Checkout period is two weeks.  Only one overnight book may be checked out at a time.

12 Overdue Books  Two days grace period for each overdue book.  Overdue fines are 10 cents per day.  Overnight fines are 25 cents per day.  There is no grace period for overnight books.

13 Damaged or Lost Books  Damaged Books  50 cents to $25  Lost Books  Regular book (two week checkout) $18  Overnight-$25

14 Book Returns Always return books to the front desk!

15 Book Returns  Never put books back on the shelf or on a book truck!

16  Who is responsible for the books you check out?  YOU ARE!

17 For Media Center Use Only  Magazines  Newspapers  Reference Books

18 Current Periodicals Magazines and newspapers are for media center use only.

19 Reference Reference books are for media center use only.

20 Computers

21 Individual Computer Use  Students must  Leave pass in the blue basket.  Sign the computer use sheet.  Must have Internet approval  Complete research (no computer games).  Pay for copies (if made).  Sign out

22 Print Outs and Copies  Black and with computer print-outs are 10 cents each  Color computer print outs are 20 cents each  Photocopies are 20 cents each  Media Center staff must make all printouts and copies.

23 School Store  Pencils  Spiral notebooks  Loose leaf paper  Poster board  Pens  Glue sticks
