Historic trends are impacted by: The economic crisis Union contract years Significant changes in industry Actual 2008 DTE Energy data showed 50% fewer retirements than historic Early 2009 attrition modeling predicted a significant reduction in near-term retirements –Scenario 1: Retirement postponement for two years with three year recovery –Scenario 2: Larger retirement slow down, extending more than 5 years Actual 2009 DTE Energy retirements are tracking close to Scenario 1 The economic crisis has impacted retirements from DTE Energy
