3 Our Shared Ambition To raise attainment: consistently over an agreed period, promoting greater depth and breadth of attainment and achievement and improving the educational outcomes of all our children and young people To progressively reduce inequity in educational outcomes: consistently over an agreed period, to make progress in eroding the deeply embedded correlation found in the majority of Scottish schools between a child’s relative point of social deprivation/affluence and their educational attainment. To improve the public and parents’ confidence in continuous improvement of Scotland’s education system.

6 What We Will Do? 12 local authorities keen to engage as early adopters to apply improvement methodology to address attainment and equity IA support to work with clusters of schools and support improvement activity Capacity and Capability for local improvement Opportunity for other LAs to join later Local spread supported as improvement C&C builds

7 No Surprises….. Recognised variety and impact of improvement efforts in education Vast evidence of what can deliver improvement in attainment while reducing the equity gap The Raising Attainment For All programme provides a method to support the implementation and spread of successful improvement activity
