2. ZEALOUS FOR GOOD DEEDS Often the success of an undertaking depends on the attitudes or morale of those doing the work! If attitudes are not proper, the work may not get done, or get delayed (Neh. 4:10):  Attitude towards safety: Injuries or death could result.  Attitude towards success: Defeatism could doom work to failure at outset.  Attitude towards morale: Low morale could delay work, and even stop it altogether. Nehemiah 4:10 10. Thus in Judah it was said, "The strength of the burden bearers is failing, Yet there is much rubbish; And we ourselves are unable To rebuild the wall."

3. ZEALOUS FOR GOOD DEEDS Christians have work to do & are to be zealous to do them There is much to do and saints need to be zealous for good works to possess the proper attitudes to get it done! ZEALOUS FOR GOOD DEEDS If we do not think we can do something, we are not going to try it  The spies sent by Moses to spy out Canaan (Num. 13:17ff; 14:11-12) Through faith “all things are possible” with God! ZEALOUS FOR GOOD DEEDS We should not be despondent and downhearted!  I Pet. 3:15; Phil. 4:4 (I Thess. 5:16); Rom. 8:18; Phil. 3:20 We have so many good things for which to be thankful!  We are forgiven of our sins (Eph. 1:7)  We are the children of God (I John 3:1-3)  We have all spiritual blessings (Eph. 1:3)  We will receive the crown of life (II Tim. 4:7-8)  There is a home prepared for us in heaven (Jn. 14:2-3) Phil. 4:4 4. 6. ZEALOUS FOR GOOD DEEDS Js. 5:16: The prayer of the righteous accomplishes much!  God listens to the prayer of the righteous! (I Pet. 3:12) We know that:  God answers prayer (Mt. 7:7-11, 21:18-22)  Prayer is the strap that holds the Armor of God together (Eph. 6:18)  Prayer changes things (Js. 5:16-18) Js. 5:16 16. Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. As for the builders, each wore his sword girded at his side as he built, while the trumpeter stood near me. 21. So we carried on the work with half of them holding spears from dawn until the stars appeared. We must not be discouraged by lack of results!  Persistence is not giving up when results are lacking (Acts 17:32-33)  We will not be condemned for a lack of results but will be for a lack of effort (Mt. 25:14-30) A persistent attitude will not let discouragement slow us down or stop us from working for the Lord! 9. ZEALOUS FOR GOOD DEEDS CONCLUSION Do you have what it takes to work for the Lord? Is your light shining? Or is it hid under a basket? If the work of the Lord is going to be accomplished, it will be by those who are:  Faithful, Joyful, Prayerful, Loving, and Persistent!
