3. Gliding Time This test will be measured by time using a stop watch. Your group will be need to build a gilder using a propeller. What is a propeller? A propeller is a type of fan that transmits power by converting rotational motion into thrust. A pressure difference is produced between the forward and rear surfaces of the airfoil-shaped blade, and a fluid (such as air or water) is accelerated behind the blade.

4. Aerobatic Display Aerobatics is the practice of flying maneuvers involving aircraft attitudes that are not used in normal flight. Aerobatics are performed in airplanes and gliders for training, recreation, entertainment and sport. Your task is to make necessary changes to your glider,to make it perform different tricks. This stage is difficult therefore team working skills are needed to problem solve. Be creative…….. Can you make your glider flip or turn when hand launched from the stage in the hall?

5. Dragons Den At this point you have the chance to sell your glider. You have the opportunity to present your groups glider design ideas to a panel of three wealthy school investors, the "Dragons“. Your group must pitch the glider, explaining the The gilders strengths and weaknesses The gilders unique sell points. The gilders overall Design- look,appeal, function, materials etc… Costing- material cost, manufacture cost etc.. Sell your gilder to win over the dragons….
