Unit 2: Integers Unit Review

Multiplying Integers The product of two integers with the same sign is a positive. Eg: (+6) x (+4) = +24; (-18) x (-3) = +54 The product of two integers with different signs is a negative. Eg: (-8) x (+5) = -40; (+9) x (-6) = -54

Dividing Integers The quotient of two integers with the same sign is a positive. Eg: (+56)÷(+8)=+56 = +7 +8 Eg: (-24) ÷(-6)= -24 = +4 -6 The quotient of two integers with different signs is a negative.

Dividing Integers cont’d The quotient of two integers with different signs is a negative. Eg: (-30) ÷ (+6) = -30 = -5 +6 Eg: (+56) ÷ (-7) = +56 = -8 -7

Order of Operations Do the operations in brackets first. Multiply and divide, in order, from left to right. Add and subtract, in order, from left to right.

When the expression is written as a fraction: Evaluate the numerator and denominator separately. Then divide the numerator by the denominator.
