Berkeley HEDAW HESSI Status –Completed all environmental tests at JPL –Shipped to Vandenberg (VAFB) on Jan. 12 –Red Team review held on Jan. 30 –Currently on hold pending fix to Pegasus launch vehicle following anomaly with HETE launch last November Steps to launch –Red Team report –Goddard Mission Readiness Review –HQ approval –Integrate with Pegasus at VAFB –Ferry from VAFB to Kennedy Space Center on L1011 –Launch date TBD until Pegasus problem is resolved

HESSI at JPL

HESSI In Transit Dave PankowPaul Turin

HESSI at VAFB

Berkeley HEDAW Objectives of the HEDAWs –Maximize HESSI scientific return –Obtain help in analyzing HESSI observations –Teach you how to use the existing HESSI data analysis software –Obtain your feedback on HESSI data analysis plans

Berkeley HEDAW Ground rules –There are no ground rules –All HESSI data will be on line within ~hours of receipt at the Berkeley SOC –All HESSI software is available on SSW –There are no restrictions on who can work on what We have a HESSI Bulletin Board http://hesperia.gsfc.nasa.gov/bbs/messages/board-topics.html Please enter your HESSI research areas here so that we know what you are doing and other people working an similar topics can collaborate.
