3 59 ½ Southwark Street London SE1 0AL (UK) ++44 (0)207 934 9583 www.lept-eu.org / info@lept-eu.org What can we and should we MONITOR?  Travel surveys:  Modal shift  Other travel behaviour (e.g. distance travelled, journey purpose)  Propensity to change  Quantitative data (e.g. traffic counts, cycle counts)  Key Performance Indicators (e.g. website hits, leaflets distributed)  Awareness (e.g. focus groups, qualitative surveys)  Feedback (e.g. emails, letters)  Indirect benefits (e.g. health, cost savings, well-being) Monitoring must be REALISTIC, STRAIGHTFORWARD, EASY TO COLLECT
