8. Use Case: Visiting Allied Health Workers For mobile workers who deliver services in remote and dynamic environments with potential risk of injury
WHAT: BlueBeacon is a software based Emergency SOS Switch that runs on your Smartphone using the device and data plan you already have.
WHY: 27 out of the 100 fatalities in healthcare and social service settings that occurred in 2013 were due to assaults and violent acts. Recently released OSHA R 2015 guidelines call on employers to provide smartphones, location/tracking, and personal alarm capabilities for lone workers
HOW:
BlueBeacon deployed to the smartphones of deployed allied health workers
Overt or covert firing of SOS using manual finger swipe, or “rip-cord” function
“Manned Monitoring” or autonomous monitoring where SMS and/or messages are routed immediately to responder network
