They need a handyman dressed in overalls. Draw the handyman with his back to you and his hands above his head working. Draw him so that his hands are moving so fast from job to job that they are blurred. Above his hands arranged in an arc, draw icons that represent the different types of jobs that a handyman can do. PAINTING, CEMENT WORK, REMODELING, ROOFING

2. Friday, September 12, 2008 Warm-Up The man you see in the photo has sold the skin off of his back to a person for $200,000. When he dies the person who bought the skin gets it to have preserved and saved. In your sketchbook, reflect on the following questions: -What is your first impression of this? -Is this art? -Would you do this? -Would you buy this? -Is this immoral? -Any other comments?

3. Monday, September 15, 2008 Reflection: You are looking at four pigs that the artist from Friday, Delovoye, tatooed. He tattooed the man that you saw Friday, Steiner, and displayed the man at an art show in Shanghai. The pigs are tattooed with Disney Characters and symbols Used on famous handbags by a designer named Louis Vuitton. The pigs that you see above were banned from the show in Shanghai because the officials said that they are not art. Reflect on this by answering the following questions about this in your sketchbook. -Do you think this is art, explain why or why not. --Do you think that the officials in Shanghai had the right to tell Delovoye what is an is not art? -Why do you think that he chose those symbols to put onto the pigs?

4. Tuesday, September 16, 2008 Reflection: Think about what you focus on when you are trying to relax. Draw what you think about. Do not leave a blank page and say that you try to clear your mind.

5. Tuesday, September 16, 2008 Textbook: Art in Focus (red book) Chapter 16, section 1, page 352 The Emergence of the Italian Renaissance Please take a packet from this cart. Read the chapter, answer the questions on the paper. When you are finished, make sure you have six squares, circles, triangles, and stars finished from yesterday.

6. Thursday, September 18, 2008 Warm Up In your sketchbook practice at least two triangles that might be used as your “pattern” for your mandala. Draw one more geometric, and one more organic or curvy. Draw the mirror of each to best determine what they are going to look like. You may use color to practice also.

7. Friday, September 19, 2008 Reflection: Draw yourself doing whatever it is that you have planned for the weekend……don’t tell me that you have no plans, and leave your page blank, please.

Tuesday, September 23, 2008 Reflection: LAST CHANCE 2.Get a red textbook from under the flag. 3.Chapter 2 in the textbook. 4.Please read and answer questions #1-#4 on page 39, page 46, and page 49 #s 1-9, #1 ANALYZE ** Please do the questions on regular paper, and turn them in when you are finished ** When you are finished, please work on the mandala.

9. Wednesday, September 24, 2008 Reflection: Choose one of the three types of color wheels that you want to make. Make at least three sketches in your sketchbook of your ideas. Finish Mandala before you begin the actual color wheel. DO NOT COPY THE COLOR WHEEL IDEA DIRECTLY FROM THE BOARD.

10. Thursday, September 25, 2008 Warm Up – Look through your shelf and get all of your warm ups together. If they are not in your sketchbook, staple them together, so they may be graded. There is a handout with all of the warm ups on it on the projector cart, if you need to make up any. Friday is the last day on your interim report.
