3 Answers Standard form: A number written with one digit for each place value. Exponent: tells us how many times to use the base number as a factor. Exponential notation: a way of writing a number using exponents.

4 Use complete sentences and examples in your answer. Explain the difference between expanded form and expanded notation.

5 Answer Expanded form is a way to write numbers that shows the value of each digit. 56,319 = 50,000 + 6,000 + 300 + 10 + 9. Expanded notation is a way to write numbers that shows each digit times the corresponding place value. 56,319 = (5·10,000) + (6·1,000) + (3·100)+ (1·10) + (9·1)
