5 Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology Academy Proficiencies Upon completion of the 9th Grade, students should be able to meet the following proficiencies: – Develop a general understanding of how technology impacts everyday life, their role in the future, and the skills required to be successful. – Develop a comprehensive understanding of the engineering field. – Develop the ability to use mathematics to solve problems (Engineering notation, number systems and codes) – Develop the ability to use science to solve problems (Current, voltage, DC circuit analysis) – Demonstrate knowledge of procedural programming C++

6 Grading – Quizzes – 25% (Check for understanding) – Tests – 25% (Tests and Large Projects) – Participation – 15% (Shop Safety, Team and Individual Performance) – Homework – 10% (Current Events, Activities) – Final – 25% (Knowledge Check)

7 Student Expectations Respect one another in class. Everyone is here to learn. Be Prepared! – Bring writing utensils, paper, calculators. Assignments will be turned in and graded through Google Classroom. Be proactive in independent and team activities. Clean shop areas at the end of the block.

8 Engineering Shop Policies Field Trip and Discovery Night Participation – Must have >85% average MP grade in class Keep phone in designated bin unless teacher asks student to use it, or there is an emergency Parents will be notified of recurring discipline issues, or if student MP grade is below 69% Extra credit is only given for effort above and beyond what is already being asked
