3. Generally… None of these ideas are set – what unfolds depends on community input and available resources. It is a 5 phase plan, over 5 or more years. It is intended for use by Vic High students, by residents in our surrounding community, and by sports clubs and for sporting events. 3

4. Recent History 2012 – VHS and VHS Alumni renew efforts with new Council contact. 2013 – Regular meetings take place to explore potential actions and strategies. Conversations include school district, our ‘Family of Schools’, city, alumni, community associations, PACs, Glenwarren Lodge, Bays United Soccer Club, Belfry Theatre. 2014 – City Council endorses project. 4

5. City Council Resolution Confirms its support for the Victoria High School Sports Facility Refurbishment Project, in principle. Commits to a financial contribution that matches the amount raised by the Victoria High Alumni Association to a maximum of $250,000, subject to: – a. Community consultation for the project by School District 61 or its designate; – b. Council approval of the final design of the project; and – c. Entering into a joint use agreement between the City and School District 61. Commits to continue working with the Victoria High Alumni Association and Victoria High School to explore other partnerships and move the project forward. 5

6. Fundraising City of Victoria matches up to $250,000 Alumni approaching members for ongoing contributions Applications to be made for federal infrastructure programs (including via FCM) Applications to be made for provincial funding programs (including via UBCM) Foundations and Legacy Funds 6

8. Shared Use Discussions will begin in the new year among the city, school district and Vic High to imagine terms for shared use. It is understood that these discussions will also be part of the community conversation in the future. 8

9. The Journey Continues We have succeeded in securing support for the stadium revitalization. We have begun fundraising and have had a good initial response. We have moved from an idea to a process You are key. 9
