1 Opinions and Feedback on the Internet

2 Introduction We as humans have the unique ability to form opinions, disseminate or dispense them, and gain feedback from others. And indeed, often our feedback comes in the form of more opinions. Even facts we once held sacred have been and continue to be proven as merely very persuasive opinions. In fact, the way you perceive your world, our world, is an opinion; based in what we perceive to be fact. We have the ability to communicate these perceptions; and anywhere communication is possible, so is the ability to disseminate or dispense these opinions and gain feedback. This seemingly simple process is paramount in our social structures. With the advent of the internet in 1957 this process has taken on many innovative and interesting forms and in all likelihood will continue to do so.

3 History The internet was invented in 1957.
