4 Types of Functions  We use different types of functions to model data.  Given a set of ( x, y ) points, we will use the graphing calculator to create a modeling equation. 4 FunctionGeneral Form Linear y = ax + b Quadratic y = ax 2 + bx + c Cubic y = ax 3 + bx 2 + cx + d Exponential y = ab x Power y = ax b
